Aquatic Therapy
Lake Area Physical Therapy & Aquatics is pleased to offer aquatic therapy in North Central Florida. Our practice has a 16 x 20 heated therapeutic pool in our Keystone Heights, Florida location, where we provide rehabilitation in a gentle water environment.
Aquatic therapy is an excellent treatment option for people who are coping with many sorts of orthopedic, neurological, and other health conditions, including but not limited to:
- Arthritis
- Joint Replacement
- Back Surgery
- Stroke
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Chronic Pain
- Muscle Spasms
Your aquatic therapist will look at your strength, physical limitations, balance, coordination, and endurance when designing a customized aquatic therapy program suited for your needs. You do not need to know how to swim to participate in aquatic therapy. You will be provided with flotation devices if needed and will always be supervised by a highly qualified physical or occupational therapist.
Aquatic therapy, especially in the controlled heat of our pool, can assist in relaxing your muscles; decreasing your pain; and increasing your flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination. As your treatment progresses, our therapists will adapt your aquatic therapy program to meet your short-term and long-term goals.
